First Health & Wellness Day a Success!

Greetings!

Our first Health & Wellness Day was a great success! The feedback from attendees and presenters was positive. Steve and I were very happy to see the number of people in attendance throughout the day considering a horrible snow storm was headed our way.

In the end, we concluded that hosting another Health & Wellness Day would be a great idea. Next time, we will allow certain topics a full hour - Tai Chi, Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, and possibly others.

The energy in the store was positive and welcoming...even more so than usual according to some attendees! What a great compliment!

Lots of new people visited that day. Some came to shop and upon realizing what was happening, decided to stay! The speakers were varied and wonderful. A big "thank you" goes to:

Leslie McQuade - for leading the group in Shamanic drumming
Dr. David Yoo - for inspiring people with his knowledge and enthusiasm for Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture
David Martin - for inviting attendees to explore their spirituality through writing
Pete Peterson - for truly demonstrating the importance and usefulness of Tai Chi
Barb Sabourin - for inspiring women to be alert and fight if necessary
Jean Melson - for reminding attendees just how awful smoking is for the body
Keith Christenson - for answering all of our fitness questions in just 30 minutes
Vaughnda Lumphrey - for demonstrating the health benefits of yoga and pilates

Life is short. Live well. Be happy. Get inspired. Motivate others.

Peace.

Our Latest Creation and more!

Greetings!
After several weeks of non-blending, I got inspired! The result? Sweet Heat Chai. It's a wonderfully aromatic blend of white tea and spice. Sweet Heat is fabulous with or without any additions. Today, I am enjoying it with Silk's French Vanilla Creamer and a bit of honey. Yummm! I bet it's pretty tasty iced, but I haven't tried that...yet! As with all of our custom blends, Sweet Heat will be blended in small batches to ensure freshness. If you enjoy chais, you don't want to miss this one!

A few reminders...

Our blends are available at Scheels and we will be there March 3 from 1-3 p.m. providing samples.

This Saturday is our first Health & Wellness Day. It is free! Since we offer a lite lunch at a reasonable price, you won't even need to leave the store!

We just added Odwalla smoothies and juices to our offerings. We love their blends! (They are competitively priced.)

Things we are contemplating...

Over the past year, customers have asked if we would offer salads. Well, now we are considering it. With the addition of the Odwalla cooler, we have a bit of fridge space that may accommodate them. If we do, we will likely offer two: a spinach or mixed green salad. Nothing too fancy, though. We can't get into adding diced chicken and all that...at least not in the beginning.

We are hiring!

We are planning to fill two PT Associate Te-Melier positions. One is primarily based in the store and is approximately 20 hours/week. The successful candidate needs to be willing to work a flexible schedule, have reliable transportation, a friendly and positive disposition and, of course, really like tea!

The second position is approximately 8 hours/week. The schedule is 7 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (Possibly 11 a.m.)at our new downtown location. Transportation is required because this person will be transporting product and beverage from the store to the downtown location. Proof of insurance is necessary.

Both positions are Sales/Service positions.

Interested? Apply in person at 12100 W. Center Rd., Ste. 506.

That's all! Have a great weekend!

Custom Blends Available Around Omaha

Greetings, again!

Our custom blends are now available at Wohlners Neighborhood Grocery on 52nd & Leavenworth and at Scheels (Village Point Shopping Center.) And, if you visit Grisanti's Restaurant, ask to see their Tea Menu. In the near future, you'll find us by the Law Library while you are visiting the courthouse downtown at 18th & Farnam. So, we are expanding! This is an exciting time for us and we have all of our customers to thank!

If you visit our store and find us closed, please know that we are out and about either sampling or making deliveries. We understand that this is an inconvenience and are beginning our search for a PT employee. We appreciate your patience while we go through a few growing pains!

Starting a business is part knowledge and part leap of faith! (Actually, I think the leap of faith part is HUGE!)

Thanks!
Kori

p.s. We now offer more than 30 custom blends and I don't see an end in sight!

Health & Wellness Day February 24, 2007

Greetings!

This month is zooming by! Before we know it, the trees will have leaves and the flowers will be in bloom all around the city. If you are like me, Spring is a time to get outside and play and Winter (unless there's snow, in which case, we must go sledding!) is a time to hibernate! I cannot seem to get motivated to go visit the recreation center at UNO even though we can get a discount rate for joining. I guess I'm just feeling sluggish and tired! (Of course, there may be other reasons for that...)

So, I got to thinkin'...What if we hosted some sort of free health event? Would this get me motivated to at least visit the rec. center or find a yoga class? It's worth a shot!

You will not believe the line up for our first EVER Health & Wellness Day! The topics range from the evils of smoking to tai chi and Shamanic drumming. We have local experts donating their time to motivate us in an atmosphere that is relaxing and inviting. So, if you are feeling at all like me, come out and enjoy the action! Get inspired! Get motivated!

For more details, stop into the store or call: 402-778-7863.

Remember: We have a lite lunch for $6.50 and fresh soup for $2.79. I am debating between making Lapsang Black Bean, Coconut Curry with Cauliflower or Creamy Potato. We've received great feedback on each of our soups, but these are REALLY yummy!

In the immortal words of Auntie Mame: Life is a banquet and most poor saps are starving to death! Live! Live! Live!

Peace!
